Pursuant to Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-27 “On national program towards implementation of 2022-2026 New Uzbekistan development strategy in the Care for Human and Quality Education Year” dated 28 February, 2023, clause 15, maximum allowed traffic speed will be decreased from 70 kilometre per hour to 60 kilometre per hour in Tashkent, Nukus, as well as in regional and local centers effective from 01 April, 2023.
The Traffic Code clause 78 subclause two paragraph now reads as follows:
"In Tashkent, Nukus, in regional and local centers, as well as within cities and towns, maximum allowed vehicle speed may not exceed 60 km/h".
Please note that fine for speeding up to 20 km/h is 300 000 UZS as of 2023.
